The procedure is performed in an operating theatre as a day case surgery.

Types of corneal grafts include:

DMEK – Descemet’s membrane endothelium keratoplasty

DSAEK – Descemet’s stripping automated endothelium keratoplasty

DALK – Deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty

ALK – Anterior lamellar keratoplasty

PK – Penetrating keratoplasty. Full thickness corneal graft.

What conditions can be treated with corneal grafts?

There are many different types of corneal conditions that can be treated with corneal grafts, including Keratoconus, degenerative corneal conditions such as Fuchs endothelial dystrophy, corneal holes, scars or infections.
