Expert Ophthalmologists at Vision Care Clinc

At Vision Care Clinic, patients eye-care isn’t left to chance. The team comprises of highly skilled ophthalmologists covering multiple specialties – from cornea and refractive surgery to glaucoma, oculoplastic, cataracts and more.

Ophthalmologists are medical consultants who specialise in the treatment of eyes and have undergone extensive training to diagnose, treat, and perform surgery on various eye conditions. By choosing a clinic staffed with such specialists, patients benefit from deep expertise, medical oversight, and access to advanced surgical and therapeutic options, all under one roof.

All our specialists are consultants at the renowned Bristol Eye Hospital.

Meet Our Expert Ophthalmologists

Mr Kieren Darcy – a Consultant Ophthalmologist, and founder of Vision Care Clinic. As the current Head of Corneal and Refractive Surgery, he brings world-class skill and expertise in refractive, cornea and cataract surgery.

Mr Demitri Manasses – Consultant Ophthalmologist leading the glaucoma service at the Bristol Eye Hospital. With thousands of glaucoma and cataract procedures under his belt, he’s especially known for pioneering minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and advanced secondary glaucoma interventions.

Samantha Hunt – A  consultant specialising in oculoplastic, lacrimal (tear duct) and orbital surgery, along with cataracts. As well as elective lid surgery, she has led complex reconstructive procedures, including treatments for facial nerve palsy and advanced tear-drainage interventions.

Alongside these consultants, Vision Care Clinic has highly qualified optometry staff who support glaucoma, refractive, cornea and contact-lens work.

This breadth of expertise means Vision Care Clinic can tailor care carefully: whether you need vision correction, surgery for cataracts, management of glaucoma, or complex orbital/tear-duct reconstruction, you’ll be seen by an experienced ophthalmologist suited to your needs.

Our Treatments

As a dedicated ophthalmology clinic, Vision Care Clinic offers a wide variety of treatments:

Laser eye surgery and refractive procedures aimed at reducing or eliminating dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

Lens replacement and cataract surgery – ideal for correcting vision, including changes due to age or cataract-related clouding.

Glaucoma management: surgical and medical, including newer minimally invasive techniques.

Oculoplastic and orbital/lacrimal surgery for tear-drainage problems, eyelid issues, reconstructive needs, or conditions affecting the orbit.

Corneal, dry-eye and specialist contact lenses, ensuring a range of care for complex or chronic eye conditions.

Importantly, the clinic emphasises personalised care: each patient receives a tailored care pathway, carefully matched to their lifestyle, eye health, and treatment goals.

When to See an Ophthalmologist and Why It Matters

While optometrists play a valuable role in prescribing glasses and contact lenses, only ophthalmologists are qualified to diagnose, treat, and when required, operate on eye diseases.

Your eyes and sight is precious, so choosing the right people to care for them can make all the difference. At Vision Care Clinic, you’ll find a warm, multidisciplinary team of experienced ophthalmologists working alongside dedicated optometry specialists. Together, they provide well-rounded care, from everyday issues to more advanced treatments and long-term eye health management.
